After our two days of vampires and zombies day three came to us and we were without costume. Thank god for Cher's closet and her need to continually fill it we were in luck!! We decided to go with a Roman/Greek theme for Tutu Tuesday.
The only rule for Tutu Tuesday at Mango's is you MUST wear a tutu to gain admitance to the party. So alas my greek god had to adorn his amazing Roman God costume with a tutu- luckily for him it wasn't that fluffy and it had studs on it to help with the fact it was a tutu. I didn't get many images from this night but there were amazing costumes. Some of my favorites were in our group which included Carmen Miranda, a Tequilla shot man, Charlie Chaplan (aka Annette in an awesome white button up shirt, mustache, and pink tutu) and Lance Armstrong. Other costumes at the party that I loved were smurfs, batman and robin, and well I don't remember the rest. (Ha)
After these days Rick and I needed a few days to recover. The last four days of our FF experience was going to be one of epic proportions because the Andersens were set to arrive on Thursday. As Thursday approached our excitement was almost to much to bare. Dustin and Kali were our very first visitors and we were debating on never letting them leave. We had done a great job of convincing them to come to KW for Dustin's 30th birthday celebration instead of Vegas. I think the reason they chose KW over Vegas is because I had offered naked people and not having to pay to see the naked. Now I never promised what the naked people may look like but they were definitely naked. Your welcome Dusty!!
When Kali had mentioned that she was going to fly into Fort Lauderdale and drive down to KW in a convertable - a camero convertable- I knew that the 3- 4 hour road trip ahead of them would be beautiful. So I woke up Thursday morning with the same bright sunshine as most days.. oh wait that is actually wrong.. As luck would have it Dustin and Kali were visiting the state of Florida just as Hurricane Sandy was moving along the eastern edge. Needless to say we did get a few of the outer wind bands and some rain so the road trip down was gloomy and rainy. It didn't damper the reunion one bit. We met with them as we both finished work and we drove to our home. Of course we treated them to wonderful Mr. Z's pizza and came up with a game plan for our evening out. Thanks to Joe and Cher we had extra bikes- we collected our things and headed toward the McMonigle closet.

Boys are lookn' H-O-T hot! |
As we took the Andersen's on our normal journey I immediately knew it was a little bit breezy and there was a few rain drops. With our trusty liquid courage we continued on the journey. All was fine until we got on the Navy base and then all heck broke loose. The wind was out of the north and I swear at one point I looked back and everyone was leaning into the wind so they would not be blown over. I am pretty sure that the winds were almost as bad as Issac- and the worst part was we all lost our courage in the wind. Finally at Joe and Cher's we finished getting ready for our party. The costumes we had decided upon were Lara Croft, Kelly Kapowski, and Slave Princess Leia. These costumes may seem weird but the theme of the party we were attending was "Nerds and they girls they dream about" held at the Porch. The Porch is a giant house on Duval that has a beer and wine bar on the main floor.
After a few drinks at the porch we took our party to the streets where everyone was standing.
We spent the better part of a few hours walking Duval and staring at all of the crazy people.. I will place some images at the end of this post if you really want to see how crazy some people were. After we had our fill of crazy we went to Smokin' Tuna where an acoustic band was playing and we had a great dance party.

So much love.. |
I do not remember much else about this night.
The next day was Friday and unfortunately both Rick and I had to work until noon. Dustin and Kali went on a little car trip down town and then we met up for some afternoon beach time.

Kali - peeing :) |
Friday night we had a plan to be zombies again.. that plan fell by the wayside and we were my favorite thing - Pirates! I am probably going to not type more about our time and just show limited images.. there are just to many things to type about! So Kali, Dustin, Rick and I were pirates. Joe was a fireman and Cher was fire..
These next two photos were taken one immediately after the other.. look at Joes face hahaha
The final night I have no idea what our costumes were- but we had the best time at the parade.
We watched the parade in front of an Irish bar near the end of the parade route. While we watched the parade we had two cops that were stationed in front of us and they kinda disrupted our bead gathering but since they couldn't receive beads then we got all of theirs as well. :)

You can see the cops behind us
|
Joe and Cher were actually apart of the parade that night and got to be on a float throwing beads to the 100,00 plus that gathered to see all of the floats. When she saw us it was raining beads I think she let loose four or five hand fulls.
Because Saturday was the closest we'd get to Dustin's actual 30th bday we had to make him do a few things off the KW list- John Knox you are very familiar with this..
He had to steal a salt shaker from Margaritaville

Then he had to climb the wall at Virgilios
We also made Dustin take a bunch of shots.. which I am sure is what led to our "cab ride home" As the night came to an end we found ourselves attempting to find a cab to our apartment. Now as mentioned there were 100K plus watching the parade and when the crowd dissipated to the few left out at the wee hours of the morning cabs were still hard to come by. We were all on separate corners trying to flag down a cab.. and I hear Dust yell that he had in fact snagged a cab. I approached the vehicle and well this was NOT a real cab but hey we wanted to get home. Dust had told the man he'd give him 20 bucks to get us home. We all got into the blazer and I turned to Dust and said "20 bucks!! are you kidding that is way to much. Dust do you even have 20 bucks?" To which Dustin is in the back seat fumbling through his wallet - Kali and Rick are giggling like kids and the cab driver is asking me where we live. We are for sure either going to die or he is going to kick us out of his "cab". Dust whispers- I have nothing in here .. shh McK it will be fine. I admit if I would have told him the wrong address we could have all gotten out and ran because well he wasn't even a real cab driver, he was a man in a vehicle giving rides. In reality I had in deed given him our home address and there was no turning back now. The guy ended up taking us to an ATM where we collected 20 bucks to pay for our cab ride. Ridiculous.
Thank you to Dustin and Kali for a very special 4 days. Also thank you to Joe and Cher for their continued support and sharing all of their fun things with us!
As always love you and miss you all..VISIT SOON!
xoxo
